Saribung Expedition - 28 Nights/ 29 Days

Saribung Expedition is quite new and already very popular trekking & Expedition Mountain in Nepal. Trekking trail of Saribung Expedition start from Jomsom after 25 minute flight from Pokhara and follow the upper mustang region trial by crossing some of real Adventurous high passes and trek will enter into the Nar phu trekking region and finally end at Besisahar( Annapurna Circuit trek start point). So, saribung Expedition trekking make clock wise round of Annapurna region at Jomsom and re-join the trail at Dharapani to Besisahar. Since Saribung trekking & climbing trip follow trail of lower and upper mustang and Enter at Nar phu (a new trekking route of Nepal and also popular now), a trekker or climber can enjoy the best views of Nepal trekking and climbing.

Saribung ExpeditionClimbing Saribung is technically very easy Expedition Mountain (6346m) but some high and ice passes near saribung expedition to Nar phu valley is really demanding and challenging. Saribung expedition is therefore suitable for those who already have good knowledge of trekking over 5500 and some moderate high passes such as Thorong la pass (5416m) in Annapurna Circuit region, cho la pass( 5420m) in Everest Gokyo region or similar high passes. The trekker should be physically well and mentally prepared for this trekking & Climbing.

Saribung trekking will start from one place and end at another trekking places by enjoying scenery, cultures, religions, geographic elevations and will cross some challenging passes near Saribung Mountain, hence trekker and climber really enjoy its fantastic and picturesque views of Himalayas and beyond. During trekking, people meet different villages, monasteries, cultures and religions of Tibetan styles everyday and the main things is spectacular mountain scenery from top of Saribung Mountain.

Mountain Sherpa Trekking & Expeditions has been organizing Saribung Expedition already many times and have very experienced and professional knowledge to handle this expedition. In fact, this expedition is organized by only few companies in last years. We have organized this expedition for many French trekkers in the past and also organizing it for other group again. Saribung Expedition - Day to Day itinerary

Day 01.
Arrival in Kathmandu.
Day 02.
Free day in Kathmandu, allowed making day. Hotel Shangrila
Day 03.
Fly to Pokhara and half day City tower in PKR.
Day 04.
Fly to Jomosom (on 2700 m) and step towards Kagbeni (on 2800 m), “door of Mustang ".
Day 05.
Kagbeni – Chele (3000 m)
Day 06.
Trek to Geling (3520 m). Step at the foot of opening cliffs of caves, strengthened villages and painted chörtens.
Day 07.
Trek Geling – Ghami (3490 m)
Day 08.
Trek Ghami to Tsarang (3580 m). Step of village in village: oasis of greenery with fields of mustard, barley or Saracen. Arrived at Tsarang, second "city" of Mustang the palace and the monastery of which are leaned on a precipice.
Day 09.
Trek Tsarang – Lo Manthang (3750 m). A last collar to be crossed before arriving at Lo Manthang, “Capital of Mustang ". A day of repose to visit vicinity: Namgyal Gompa and Thinghkar, houses troglodytiques and monasteries.
Day 10.
Rest day in Lo Manthang
Day 11.
Lo Manthang – Dhi Marche towards mountains, by crossing the valley, up to the monastery of Luri, dug in chimneys of fairies.
Day 12.
Trek to – Luri (3580 m).
Day 13-15.
Luri – Base camp (5250 m).The way leaves "classical" Mustang to take back up the big and wild valley of Namta Khola which indents the arid tray up to the first glaciers.
Day 16-18.
Base camp – Of Hults Pass. A huge river of ice goes down from the heart of the massif of Damodar Himal to Hults Pass which results in the valley of Phu, for a long time inaccessible and mysterious.
Day 19-20.
Climbing of Saribung Peak (6310 m) by a big slope of snow without big difficulty. In the summit, unique panorama on the most secret summits of Mustang with, in the distance, every 7000 m of Peri Himal: Himlung, Nemjung, Gyajikang. South mountainside, the glacier gives up the place very quickly in a discreet track, between moraines.
Day 21-22.
Step for the basic camp of Bhrikuti then Phu (4000 m), village of the ends of the earth on his rocky piton.
Day 23-26.
Quick Descent of the valley of Phu then that of Marsyangdi by the way of the turn of Annapurnas, but the other way round. Every day brings closer to the Nepali lowland us and gives a different cultural experience by crossing all floors of Himalayan life up to rice fields.
Day 27.
Drive back to kathmandu.
Day 28.
Rest day in kathmandu, free day for shopping.
Day 29.
Transfer to international airport, Fly back to home.

Saribung Expedition - Day to Day itinerary (Itinerary in French)

Day 01.
Arrival in Kathmandu.
Day 02.
Free day in Kathmandu, permit making day. Hotel Shangrila
Day 03.
Fly to Pokhara & half day city tour in PKR.
Day 04.
Fly to Jomosom (2700 m) et marche vers Kagbeni (2800 m), "porte du Mustang".
Day 05.
Kagbeni – Chele (3000 m)
Day 06.
Trek to Geling (3520 m). Marche au pied de falaises percées de grottes, villages fortifiés et chörtens peints.
Day 07.
Trek Geling – Ghami (3490 m
Day 08.
Trek Ghami to Tsarang (3580 m). Marche de village en village : oasis de verdure avec des champs de moutarde, d´orge ou de sarrasin. Arrivée à Tsarang, deuxième "ville" du Mustang dont le palais et le monastère sont adossés à un précipice.
Day 09.
Trek Tsarang – Lo Manthang (3750 m). Un dernier col à passer avant d'arriver à Lo Manthang, "capitale du Mustang". Une journée de repos afin de visiter les environs : Namgyal Gompa et Thinghkar, habitations troglodytiques et monastères.
Day 10.
Rest day in Lo Manthang
Day 11.
Lo Manthang – Dhi Marche en direction des montagnes, en traversant la vallée, jusqu´au monastère de Luri, creusé dans des cheminées de fées.
Day 12.
Trek to – Luri (3580 m).
Day 13-15.
Luri – Camp de base (5250 m). Le chemin quitte le Mustang "classique" pour remonter la grande et sauvage vallée de la Namta Khola qui entaille le plateau désertique jusqu´aux premiers glaciers.
Day 16-18.
Camp de base – De Hults Pass. Un immense fleuve de glace descend du cœur du massif du Damodar Himal à De Hults Pass qui débouche sur la vallée de Phu, longtemps inaccessible et mystérieuse.
Day 19-20.
Ascension du Saribung Peak (6310 m) par une grande pente de neige sans grande difficulté. Au sommet, panorama unique sur les sommets les plus secrets du Mustang avec, au loin, tous les 7000 m du Peri Himal : Himlung, Nemjung, Gyajikang. Versant sud, le glacier cède très vite la place à un sentier discret, entre les moraines.
Day 21-22.
Marche pour le camp de base du Bhrikuti puis Phu (4000 m), village du bout du monde sur son piton rocheux.
Day 23-26.
Descente rapide de la vallée de Phu puis celle de la Marsyangdi par le chemin du tour des Annapurnas, mais en sens inverse. Chaque jour nous rapproche de la plaine népalaise et offre une expérience culturelle différente en traversant tous les étages de la vie himalayenne… jusqu´aux rizières.
Day 27.
Drive back to kathmandu.
Day 28.
Rest day in kathmandu, free day for shopping.
Day 29.
Transfer to international airport, Fly back to home.
